Our Veterinary Team

Dr. Nick Koten

Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Koten attended Texas A&M for undergraduate studies in Animal Science and left in 2010 to attend Veterinary school with Ross University in St. Kitts. He graduated in 2014 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He quickly found a love for private practice and purchased the clinic in 2015. He loves the challenges that owning his own practice brings and loves surgery. He is passionate about making sure all animals in his practice receive the best care and makes sure his LPH team matches that energy.

Joni Koten

Practice Manager

Joni graduated From Texas A&M University in 2010 with a BS in Animal Science and has many years of experience in 4-H, and FFA. She grew up raising, showing, and training animals. She has been married to Dr. Koten for over 10 years and together they have 2 kids, Landon and Addison who are involved in many different things from sports, to following their moms’ footsteps in 4-H and FFA showing animals. In their spare time they enjoy many outdoor activities from Camping, taking their horse trail riding, boating, reenacting, swimming and anything outdoors with friends and family.

Chelsea Crowell

Chelsea Crowell

Senior Veterinary Technician

Chelsea has been a part of the LPH team since 2017. She has grown into being one of our senior technicians, she helps our team by training new staff, being a full-time large and small animal technician and hopping over to grooming when needed. Chelsea is an outdoor enthusiast on her time off. She and her husband Kyle enjoy traveling, fishing, camping, gardening, and riding horses. She has 4 cats, 3 dogs, 2 horses and several other farm animals.
Carla Coe

Carla Coe

Lead Kennel Tech

Carla started with LPH in 2017, she had limited experience but a heart to learn and passion for animals. She quickly became the matriarch of the team and one we all could learn from. Her pet patients are just that in her care “hers”, every pet gets treated with luxury accommodations and is loved like her own. Carla enjoys gardening and planting flowers in her spare time, along with just being outside. You can almost always find her in the clinic flower beds and taking care of everything that grows, along with spoiling her pet patients. Carla has several fur babies of her own from two dogs, two cats, and several chickens.
Andrew Nunn

Andrew Nunn

Veterinary Assistant

Born in Tyler and raised my whole life in Canton, I’ve moved to Lindale to start my journey to becoming a veterinarian at TJC. I’ve had a passion for helping animals ever since I could remember. I am lucky enough to have 3 furry test dummies, 2 lab rescues, and a corgi rescue, that is kid-proof enough to let me practice on. Other than work I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, the gym, church, and time with friends.

Devin Marsh

Devin Marsh

Veterinary Technician/Office Manager

Having joined the team in 2017, Devin has become a huge asset to LPH by being involved in both the clinical and administrative sides of serving our pet patients and their families. She loves learning new things and is always trying to improve the team. Devin’s hobbies include summer lake days, playing cornhole with her husband, and riding ATVs. She counts a Great Dane (Scooby), a Boxer (Maddox), and a Labrador (Lucy) as her fur-children, and notes that all three are convinced they are lap dogs.
Marcey Howell

Marcey Howell

Certified Veterinary Assistant, Client Care Specialist

Born and raised as an East Texas farm girl, Marcey has been working with animals all of her life. After retiring from the property tax and appraisal business in 2014, she began working with pets professionally. She achieved a certificate in veterinary assistance earlier that year and joined Lindale Pet Hospital, as our customer care specialist in January 2019. Along with her husband, Tim, she raises Miniature Australian Shepherds, has two horses,  and also counts a Corgi, a Great Dane, and cats as part of her pack.
Blue

Blue

Clinic Greeter

I have been in the LPH family since January 2017 where I came in with my mom and siblings at 1 day old as an owner surrender. All my other litter mates and mom went to wonderful homes at 6wks old but I was too sick to leave. Thru great care and love once I became healthy I was made the clinic mascot! You will find me anywhere at any given time, ready for love and attention! ( I practically own the place!) Can you find me?!?

Abby

Abby

Veterinary Technician

Abby has been part of the team for several years; she started as a volunteer while in high school and worked off and on through college as a seasonal kennel technician. She has now joined our team permanently in 2022 as a vet tech with a heart for the job. She is a local from right here in Lindale, TX, and brings a different aspect to the team. From fostering animals in need, to owning animals there is nothing she won’t try and help. Abby is mom to an adorable young man named Lincoln. He has her love and heart for animals and shows it to their own chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats, pigs, a big horse named Charlie, and a pet turtle named Richard.

Shelby Woods

Shelby Woods

Veterinary Assistant

Shelby have been a part of the Lindale Pet Hospital Family since August 2021. She was born and raised in West Texas and met her husband while attending college in the hill country. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in exercise Science, and after graduation, they moved to East Texas where she found her passion in the veterinary Medicine Industry. The biggest reason Shelby loves her job so much is that not every day is the same, and in addition to this, she loves helping a wide variety of animals. In her leisure time, she enjoys being outdoors on their family goat farm with her three dogs and cat.
